ITALY, Venice – late 18th century
An architecturally shaped cabinet in moulded wood, lacquered in cream and finely gilded against a blue and red repainted background.
The slightly curved front features a central pivoting niche adorned with cherubs surmounted by a carved and gilded wooden shell, housing a late 17th-century carved and polychrome painted wooden sculpture of a Saint Priest.
The twelve drawers, arranged in three rows, are decorated in the Arte Povera style with architectural landscapes, animated ruins and winged animals.
