Description
Jean-Georges SCHLICHTIG, appointed master craftsman in Paris on 2 October 1765, died in February 1782.
A pair of slightly curved corner cabinets in wood and veneer, decorated with a geometric pattern of openwork cubes within Greek-style moulded frames.
It opens with a convex door framed by concave stiles with simulated fluting.
Tripod base and gilded bronze lock plates decorated with cascading laurel garlands (added later).
Louis XV–Louis XVI transition period.
Top in grey veined marble, moulded in a cavetto profile.
