Description
A substantial, counter-height sideboard serving as a low display cabinet, made of rosewood veneer, opening with two doors and featuring scalloped, glazed sides. Impressive and elaborate decoration of gilded chiselled bronze, including ovate and arched friezes, espagnolettes, foliage interlacing and lock plates. Top of slightly veined white marble, moulded in a corbin’s beak profile. Napoleon III period. Height: 92 cm Width: 178 cm Depth: 57.5 cm One missing pane replaced with Plexiglas; very minor imperfections. Provenance: - Galerie Les Accacias, 97 Avenue Victor Hugo, Paris – 25 October 1965.
