IRAN Very fine Isfahan Made of wool and silk. Silky wool velvet of high quality lambswool on a silk backing (silk warp, weft and fringes) Density: Approx. 9,000 knots per square decimetre Ivory field decorated with scrollwork of fine stems of polychrome flowering palmettes surrounded by stylised foliage and framing a rosette with a celadon and antique gold floral crown in the shape of a stylised diamond Four spandrels with motifs echoing the central medallion. Triple borders, the main one being beige with an interlaced design of symmetrically arranged ruby-coloured flowers Signed. H. 165 x W. 110 cm Good overall condition.
