Description
LOUIS XVIII, King of France (1755–1824).
A round medallion, in repoussé cardboard enhanced
with watercolours, signed Michaud, depicting a profile of the
sovereign, his head turned to the left, preserved under glass
and presented in a carved and gilded wooden frame
decorated at each corner with a palmette motif; bears
at the bottom of the frame a bronze plaque engraved with the inscription:
‘Louis XVIII, King of France, Grand Master of the Order of Saint
Lazarus of Jerusalem from 1794 to 1824’. Signs of age.
