JEAN, Prince of Orléans, Duke of Guise (1874–1940).
Large photographic portrait signed ‘Taponier’ in Paris,
showing the subject in a half-length profile, head turned to the
right, with a handwritten dedication signed at the bottom of the print:
‘To my dear Lassus, with warmest regards, in exile, 10
June 1933, Jean”. Period print mounted on cardboard, with
the photographer’s graphite signature. Preserved under
glass in its original carved wooden frame with a
staff-style stand at the back. Signs of age, minor damage to the frame.
