and second lieutenant of the Guards. Commission issued to
Mr Henry de Lalande, a member of the King’s Bodyguard in
the Villeroy Company, to hold the rank of
Cavalry Field Marshal. Autograph letter signed by François de
Neufville, Duke of Villeroy, addressed to Henry de Lalande, dated
13 January 1784, 8vo. Attached is a large wax seal
bearing the arms of France (with variations). Diameter: 12 cm.
