MEURET François (1800–1887).
Portrait of a man wearing a black frock coat.
Oval-shaped miniature, painted in gouache on ivory, signed
on the left-hand side, circa 1830, preserved under a domed glass
within a gilded brass frame featuring a finely chiselled
with a frieze of oak leaves against a background of a
natural wood frame, surmounted by an openwork gilded brass pediment
crowned with a palmette. Good condition, minor damage to the frame.
