KING GEORGE V’S VISIT TO INDIA.
A collection of 19 menus for lunches and dinners served on board
the RMS Medina during the official visit of King George V of
Great Britain (1865–1936) and his wife Queen Mary
to India, dated 13 November to 4 December 1911, handwritten
and printed text in French on card stock, gilt edges,
topped with the inscription ‘RMS Medina’ in gold lettering surmounted
by the intertwined monogram of the sovereigns G. M. R. (George
Mary Rex) in gold letters beneath the English royal crown.
Included is a menu dated 25 June 1911 aboard the yacht Victoria
& Albert. Signs of age, but in good overall condition.
