RARE WALLET BELONGING TO COUNT HENRY DE LA VAULX, founder of the Aéroclub de France In green morocco leather, the front cover decorated with a round, openwork gold motif featuring the initials ‘HLV’ beneath a count’s crown. Interior stamped in gold with the words ‘Maison KENDALL 17 RUE DE LA PAIX PARIS’. The interior is lined with green moiré and has two compartments, one of which is a card holder; shows signs of wear It contains two autograph letters from Césarine DENISOT, the Count’s housekeeper, to Jean Mermoz dated May and November 1930. One of the two letters explains how the governess donated the Count’s wallet ‘whilst he was in Paris’ with the consent of the Count’s first cousin, Germanie de LA VAULX.  A rare wallet belonging to Count Henry de La Vaulx, founder of the Aero-Club de France Provenance: - Count Henry de La Vaulx (1870–1930); - Donated by his governess, Césarine Denisot, to her friend Jean Mermoz, with the consent of the Count’s first cousin; - Has remained in the Jean Mermoz family to this day.
