In brown leather, decorated with gold along the edges of the friezes and inscribed on the front covers with ‘L’ACADÉMIE DES SPORTS A JEAN MERMOZ’ (one dated 1934)
a) One awarded on 31 May 1934, for his double crossing of the South Atlantic aboard the Arc en ciel – Dakar–Natal–Natal–Dakar – 1933. Signed by the President. The medal is set in green velvet.
b) One awarded on 9 March 1935, for his six aerial crossings of the South Atlantic aboard the ‘Arc en ciel’ – 1934. Signed by the president. The medal is set in green velvet.
