RELIC CHEST MADE FROM PARTS ATTRIBUTED TO ‘OLD CHARLES No. 1’, ONE OF AS GEORGES GUYNEMER’S AIRCRAFT
Made of ash, aluminium and brass, decorated with ribbons, laurel leaves and a butterfly.
Rectangular base bearing an old handwritten label on the underside: ‘Made by my (…) from the wreckage of the Nieuport fighter “Le Vieux Charles No. 1” belonging to Sergeant Guynemer ….
