IMPORTANT FILE CONCERNING PILOT EDMOND DE GAVARDIE Containing: - Photographic prints. - Typewritten documents relating to the war, including citations dated 13 November 1916, 25 December 1916 and 1 December 1916. - Notice of award of the Military Medal. 12 April 1916. - Notice of award of the Military Medal by decision of the King of England. - Notice of award of the Italian Bronze Medal for Military Valour. With authorisation to wear it. - Notice of appointment as a Knight of the Legion of Honour with a citation dated 6 January 1917. - Correspondence, notably regarding Henry Potez aeroplanes, certifying that Gavardie was employed as a pilot (1929), and from the PLAGE LASKIEWICZ company, for which Gavardie became the representative in France. - Three pages of a handwritten ‘Conclusion’, probably intended for the Ministry of Air, setting out the concept for the ‘Cavalier’ aeroplane, which would eventually lead to the Potez 75. - A draft written by Gavardie of a letter that René Fonck sent to the Minister of Aviation in 1952. - Extract from the newspaper ‘AKHBAR’ dated 25 June 1916, recounting Gavardie’s exploits at the front, where he shot down an ‘Aviatik’ in the presence of the Duke of Connaught. - Three sheets of letterhead paper from the Polish state aeronautical establishments ‘Panstwowe Zaklady Lotnicze’ - Handwritten service record. - Numerous promotion and service records. - A training logbook belonging to Lieutenant Edmond de Gavardie from July 1937, a 173-page manuscript containing Air Force Academy courses on the organisation of the Air Force, cryptography, navigation, communications, etc.  Important archives relating to the pilot Edmond de Gavardie
