Description
LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICER’S CEREMONIAL SABRE, Model 1822, with a chiselled, three-branched gilt brass guard, hallmarked ‘MANCEAUX à PARIS’, a tang covered in leather and filigree-worked with brass, blade with a wide hollow edge marked ‘DONNE par le ROI’, from the Royal Manufactory of Klingenthal, July 1825. Iron scabbard hallmarked ‘MANCEAUX à PARIS’ (partially effaced), with two straps and loop rings. Blade length: 92 cm. Restoration period. Sold with a certificate of authenticity from Aux Armes d’Antan dated 3 June 2006.
