A gold medal in gilded silver and crystal, entirely handcrafted by artisans in the Lalique workshops. This emblematic piece was the first to incorporate crystal into its metallic composition.
The obverse features the five Olympic rings in the foreground, set against a shaded valley. The upper part, in gilded metal, is decorated with an inlaid stylised laurel branch, accompanied on the lower part by the inscription: "ALBERTVILLE 92 XVIes JEUX OLYMPIQUES D'HIVER - XVI OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES".
