Paris, Buon, at Mont St. Hilaire, under the sign of St. Claude, 1609, a large folio volume, 8 ff. – 1215 pp. – 6 ff. – 132 pp. – 2 ff., pale calfskin, 3 gilt fillets framing the covers, coats of arms on the covers, ribbed spine, some with gilt monogram, title label missing (spine and binding worn).Fifth posthumous edition and eleventh collective edition, partly in the original. With a restored frontispiece title page, engraved in intaglio by Léonard Gaultier depicting Ronsard being crowned by Homer and Virgil,leaning against the portico of Mars and Venus (here in its first state, before the engraver retouched it for the 1823 edition by concealing her nudity with her hair).
