White enamel dial, Roman numerals and 24-hour scale, railway-track minute track, off-centre seconds hand, signed and numbered.
Mechanical movement, lever escapement, compensating balance, ruby bearings and ruby pallets.

This watch is recorded in the archives of Breguet SA: ‘2289: simple 20-ligne watch with pendant winding mechanism, gold basin-shaped case no. 79409, enamel dial with 24-hour display, small seconds hand, steel hands, lever escapement, compensating balance, ruby bearings and ruby bridges. Sold on 13 December 1912 to Mr Lafontaine for the price of 1,000 francs”.

Kept in a safe for nearly 70 years, this watch was rediscovered within a family where it had remained for several decades. According to the Breguet archives, this timepiece was last serviced at the workshops in 1926 for ‘Mr Lafontaine, Villa Bonne Brise, Annecy’.
CONDITION REPORT:
Movement operational at the time of writing the catalogue. Good overall condition. Case with visible impact damage to the back (slight dent and normal wear and tear), double serial numbers 2289 and 79409. Dial with a slight (old) crack visible at 5 o’clock. Several watchmaker’s markings visible. Servicing recommended.
