Sword of inspectors and senior officers of the health services, model of 15 November 1837, without scabbard.
Gilded bronze mount; the joint arch is decorated with a ring of small flowers at its centre, surrounded by oak and olive leaves, and dividing at its base into two branches. The quillon ends in a lion’s muzzle. Filigree-worked horn tang (filigree missing). Kidney-shaped guard featuring a cock within a wreath of oak leaves against a background of six flags; folding counter-guard (missing). Double-edged blade with a lozenge-shaped cross-section.
