Description
LA ROCHE-TOLAY / M. REGNAULT: “Working drawings of the metal bridge built over the Garonne in Bordeaux by the Compagnies d’Orléans and du Midi to link the Paris–Bordeaux railway line to the Midi network”. Produced by the Compagnie de Matériels de Chemin de Fer, represented by Messrs Pauwels, Nepveu and Eiffel. Approved by the General Council of Bridges and Roads on 29 April 1858. Work commenced on 15 September 1858 and the bridge was handed over for use on 15 August 1860. Comprises some twenty flat-mounted plates (including three double plates at the beginning). Original cover is damaged and soiled, with signs of wear, damage and missing sections.
