Among the most emblematic pieces of eighteenth-century furniture, the two commodes for Louis XIV's bedroom at the Grand Trianon were delivered in 1708 and 1709 and have remained in the national collections ever since. Two commodes also by Zwiener were offered for sale at Sotheby's Paris on 11 December 2024, lot 125. A similar chest of drawers, also by Zwiener, is illustrated in Mestdagh (op. cit.).
