The relationship between the Grenoble cabinet-maker François Mondon (1687-1742) and his Parisian namesake (1694-1770) is unknown, but the great stylistic similarities of this chest of drawers with Grenoble cabinet-making in general and with Thomas Hache (1664-1747) in particular, as well as with the work of the Parisian cabinet-maker François Mondon, is a further factor in linking the two cabinet-makers, particularly with regard to their mutual influences.
