Pair of ormolu andirons with vases, decorated with vine shoots and ram's heads, quartefeuille and lozenges, frieze of posts and pine cones, resting on a fluted base with foliage and rosette; (the irons probably replaced, fixing hole not used).

This pair of andirons is to be compared with a number of examples delivered around 1775 by the bronzemaker Quentin Claude Pitoin (1725-1777), sculptor at the Académie de Saint Luc and gilder to the King, for the Garde-meuble de la Couronne.
