Description
In a red velvet-lined gilt leather case with key, an officer's set complete with its six sabre-bladed folding razors known as "coupe-choux" and its two leather and marble sharpeners in their case. The handle (or chase) is in mother-of-pearl, embellished with two gold flowers framing an engraved shield. It is finished with a gold motif depicting a sword hilt. The blades are marked ACIER FONDU and the letters A.D, probably made by an unidentified cutler.
Restoration period
Condition: mother-of-pearl missing from the end of one handle, broken mother-of-pearl on another, tear on one of the sharpeners' sheaths.
