Attributed to Amélie DAUBIGNY, née d’AUTEL (1795–1861) Peaches and damsons on a marble entablature Panelled walnut panel 23.5 x 19 cm Original frame, in moulded and gilded oak Signed lower right ‘?a.L. d’hautel?’; label on the reverse of the backing board ‘?A la palette flamande Malaine / Paris?’ Amélie d’Autel was a pupil of Louis-François Aubry and Jean-Pierre Granger and exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1831 (where she was awarded a medal) to 1844. She married the miniaturist Pierre Daubigny and continued to work with him. We would like to thank Michel Raskin, a descendant of Charles François Daubigny, for bringing the attribution to our attention and for providing us with further details about the artist.
