Jules COUTAN (1848–1939) Venus Nurturing Love Patinated bronze cast Signed on the side of the plinth H.: 38 cm, W.: 48 cm, D.: 20 cm A playful arrangement of the crescent moon. Winner of the Prix de Rome in 1872, Jules Coutan was a resident at the Villa Medici from 1873 to 1876. He was elected a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 1900.
