An oak chest of drawers richly decorated with metal columns, capitals and legs in repoussé copper featuring stylised palmette motifs and vine tendrils. Extensive openwork ironwork depicting stylised foliage, birds and monkeys on branches and wreaths against a crimson velvet background; on the lid, applied and openwork ironwork depicting mermaids, wreaths, mythical fish, stylised foliage and fleurs-de-lis. Side handles; simulated bolt lock. The lid opens to reveal 14 drawers and 2 flaps concealing 4 compartments. Set on a base with arcades and small columns resting on two plinth-shaped feet, joined by an H-shaped crossbar. Spain, a modern piece in the 17th-century style. Dimensions of the bargueño: 60 × 100 × 45 cm. Overall dimensions: 145 × 100 × 55 cm.
