A mahogany chest of drawers with a central recessed section, featuring three drawers in two rows without a crossbar. The rounded side panels rest on curved legs. Stamped ‘L. PERIDIEZ’ and bearing the hallmark of the Carpenters’ and Cabinetmakers’ Guild. Louis XV–Louis XVI transitional period. Top of Aleppo breccia marble with an added inverted cavet. 83 × 96 × 50 cm. (Replaced lock, one pull ring and replaced offcuts; scratches and small chips) Louis Péridiez was admitted as a master cabinetmaker in Paris on 17 April 1764.
