Salvador DALI (1904‒1989). Portrait of La Fontaine. Drypoint engraving on Arches vellum, signed in the lower right-hand corner and numbered 4/250 in ‘Jésus’ format. Plate from the famous series created by Dalí, ‘Le bestiaire de La Fontaine Dalinisé’, published by Robert Mouret, Éditions des Maîtres Contemporains in Agay, Saint-Raphaël, 1976. Dimensions of the sheet: 762 × 566 mm. Dimensions of the print: 585 × 405 mm. A certificate of authenticity is enclosed. The copper plates were pierced after printing, as indicated on the certificate. In perfect condition. For those wishing to complete the series, we are including: - the original in-plano slipcase, lined with beige velvet with a gilt title on the front cover, and two press-stud fastenings. - the double-page title and table of contents sheet countersigned by the publisher and the bailiff, numbered 4/250 (there is a small stain on the title page of this sheet).
