An Italian designer, Sabattini met Gio Ponti, who encouraged him to produce design pieces, exploring techniques of silversmithing. From 1956 to 1963, he was head of the Silversmithing Design department at Christofle in Paris.
His signature appears on refined tableware — cutlery, candlesticks, vases — as well as on sculptures combining modernism and minimalism.
Awards: Milan Triennale, Gold Medal (1971) and Golden Compass (1979) at the Mostra Internazionale del Arredamento in Monza (Italy).
