Nicolas-Théodore Cailliez (1767–1845?) CHALICE AND PATEN In silver, on a circular foot with stepped edges; the paten engraved with the inscription IHS surmounted by a cross and resting on a heart pierced by three nails. Master’s mark (under the base and on the paten): N.T.C., a Phrygian cap. Mark of the Paris Goldsmiths’ Guild, a crowned P with the numbers 89, 1789. Workmark: an A in a circle (Paris, February 1789–October 1792). Oak leaf and head of Minerva hallmark (reverse). Height: 25.5 cm. Weight: 334.6 g (Agt - 925).
