Description
MASSIER fils - Perret suc VALLAURIS. Large blue-glazed earthenware basin with chocolate-coloured glaze runs. It is supported by two putti and a child faun and rests on a fluted column base. The bowl is decorated with a frieze of foliage and cherubs in bas-relief. Handles in the form of ribbon-wrapped reeds, terminating in an acanthus leaf. Circa 1900. Marked with the manufacturer’s recessed stamp beneath the vase. H. 150.5 cm. Minor chips.
