A pair of CHAIRS in ebony, ebony veneer and blackened wood, with a straight backrest and baluster legs joined by an ‘H’-shaped crossbar. Ivory decoration on the seat and backrest featuring foliage, chimeras and bouquets of flowers in inlay, and a medallion with engraved depictions of mythological figures (Hermes, a woman bathing, cherubs). Renaissance style, Napoleon III period (1851–1870) 117 x 44.5 x 46 cm. Minor damage and losses. CITES permit currently being obtained.
