Sivas carpet (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), central Turkey, circa 1930–1970.
(Slight wear and fraying.)
Length: 470 cm; Width: 297 cm.
The carpet is adorned with a large, multi-lobed, polychrome central medallion, flanked by two pendants on a tobacco-coloured ground enhanced with a stylised floral design. The entire composition is embellished with four tobacco-coloured spandrels. A wide tobacco-coloured border featuring a garland of flowers is framed by six counter-borders.
