Ghoum silk carpet (silk warp, weft and pile), central Persia, circa 1940–1970.
(Good condition.)
Length: 160 cm; Width: 108 cm.
The carpet is adorned with a large navy blue multi-lobed medallion, set off by a smaller polychrome multi-lobed medallion and decorated with a stylised polychrome floral design on a tobacco-coloured ground. A wide ivory border with floral motifs is framed by numerous counter-borders.
