Note: He is the son of the great photographer Jacques-Henri Lartigue and the grandson of the composer André Messager. A versatile artist, he made his mark as a painter, writer and butterfly enthusiast, even going so far as to found the Maison des Papillons in Saint-Tropez. Closely connected to the world of Marcel Pagnol, Dany Lartigue notably illustrated Pagnol’s *Souvenirs d’enfance*, helping to bring the author’s Provençal poetry to life through images.
