This is a replica of Maignan's famous 1881 painting (322 x 242 cm), exhibited at the Salon that same year (No. 1500) and now in the Musée de Picardie in Amiens. The painting is based on a passage from Dante's Divine Comedy: ... She was choosing flowers from among those with which her whole road was enamelled. - O beautiful lady, you who warm yourself with the rays of love... Purgatory, chapter XXVIII
The original kept in Amiens at the Musée de Picardie, dated 1881, which was exhibited at the Petit Palais in Paris in 2015.
