Description
Antoine DERIZET (1685-1768) Project for the church of Santissimo Nome di Maria al Foro Traiano Pen and black ink over black pencil lines and grey wash H. 54 cm - L. 37.5 cm DB Antoine Derizet, who won the Prix de Rome for architecture in 1720, arrived in Rome and took part in the renovation of a number of churches. He designed the future church of Saints Claude and André des Bourguignons, which took 2 years to build between 1728 and 1730. In 1736, he designed the church of Santissimo Nome di Maria al Foro Traiano (the one for which our drawing is preparatory) and took part in the decoration of the church of Saint-Louis-des-Français in Rome.
