Description
China, 19th century Pale beige agate jug, the body and lid gadrooned, the angular leiwen handle, and a movable ring under the spout. H. 9.5 cm LM Small chips, one missing (from the lid) and one ring detached. Provenance : Acquired by the French engineer and diplomat Henri Maux (1901-1950) during his mission to China between 1945 and 1949 (between Shanghai, Nanjing and Hong Kong), and remained in his family ever since.
