ANNAM Viet Nam - TU DUC 5 November 1848 - 19 July 1883 Radiant sun surrounded by four Chinese characters Tu duc thông bao "current currency of Tu Duc". Around the rim, graffiti and ornaments. R/. Long Van "Sapèque of the dragon". Dragon in the middle of clouds and around a sun between two characters Long and van. Around the rim, grenetis and ornaments. Slanting striated edge. Schroeder 272 Coin of 5 Tien silver or ½ Lang undated. (18.47 g) Rare coinage. Two holes at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. Very nice. Emperor Tu Duc was born Nguyễn Phúc Hồng Nhậm on 22 September 1829 in Hué and died on 17 July 1883 in the same city He was the 4th ruler of the Nguyễn dynasty (Đại Nam). Son of Emperor Thiệu Trị, he succeeded him from 1847 to 1883. CV
