Description
Interesting Viennese fortepiano, early 19th century. The fortepiano has 5 legs, a 6-octave mechanical keyboard, and ebony and ivory veneered keys. The paintings are not contemporary with the piano forte itself, and have been painted on a mahogany veneer, but with missing parts on the top. The stand is also not original and has been rebuilt in the style of Johann Fritz fortepianos. The case has been repainted very late with a blue background. The painting on the top of the lid, which is not original, is composed of 3 different scenes certainly inspired by a painting by Tiepolo. The action has also been redone, as have the knee pads at a later date. A much altered instrument with similarities, restored in the style of the pianos made by Johann Fritz around 1810-1840. H. 92.5 cm - W. 223 cm - D. 119.5 cm The action has been completely restored by Mr Frederic Leblanc. Expert : Guy ESTIMBRE
