Heriz carpet (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), North-West Persia, circa 1930-1970

The carpet is decorated with a large central polychrome double medallion, extended by two pendants on a red background enhanced by geometric floral motifs. The whole composition is embellished with four ivory spandrels. A wide navy blue border with geometric floral motifs is framed by two counter-borders.
