‘Chinese-style’ wall sconce with a violin-shaped form and a green horn veneer console. Richly ornamented with chiselled and gilded bronze motifs such as: chimeras, acanthus leaves, volutes, clasp motifs, corner finials and lamp bases. Movement signed Julien II Leroy, Paris. The case and console are stamped B. Lieutaud. Louis XV period. H. 88 cm. W. 76 cm. D. 29 cm. (Two brass strips to be reattached) Julien II Leroy (1686–1759), admitted as a Master in 1713.
