Print box with slightly domed lid, wooden core covered with leather and wrought iron bands with secret compartment in the lid; front with lock hasp decorated with a basilisk, four side loops . Print on the reverse of the cover depicting the Nativity, coloured xylograph after Jean d'Ypres with inscription Mirabile mysterium declaratur hodie innovantur natura[a]e deus homo factus est id quod fuit permansit et quod non erat assumpsit non in commixtione passus. (An admirable mystery is proclaimed today: natures are renewed; God became man; he remained what he was and assumed what he was not, without undergoing any mixture). Paris, late 15th century Height: 11.5 cm - Length: 16.5 cm - Depth: 24 cm (a few accidents and missing pieces, minor restorations) A similar box is kept at the Palazzo Madama in Turin (In. 50/CU) and a print at the BnF in Paris (Réserve EA-5(13)- Boîte Ecu).
