They date our unpublished painting around 1690 and compare it with other paintings by Rachel Ruysch of a similar format such as A Small Bouquet of Roses, Marigolds and Larkspur on a Marble Entablature (canvas, 34 x 29 cm) signed and dated 1686 (London sale, Christie's, 3 December 1997, no. 33 sold for £199,500) and Roses, bindweed and raspberries with a butterfly on a marble entablature (canvas, 39.6 x 32.8 cm. Sale in Amsterdam, Sotheby's, 6 November 2001, no. 43 sold for 67,750 nlg). Our painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Marianne Berardi.
