We would like to thank Fred Meijer and Marianne Berardi, author of the monograph currently being written, for confirming the attribution on the basis of the painting.
for confirming the attribution on the basis of a digital photo taken in November 2025 and February 2026. They date
our unpublished painting around 1690 and compare it with other paintings by Rachel Ruysch of a similar format
such as A Small Bouquet of Roses, Marigolds and Larkspur on a Marble Entablature (canvas, 34 x 29 cm)
signed and dated 1686 (London sale, Christie's, 3 December 1997, no. 33 sold for £199,500) and Roses, bindweed and raspberries
with a butterfly on a marble entablature (canvas, 39.6 x 32.8 cm. Sale in Amsterdam, Sotheby's,
6 November 2001, no. 43 sold for 67,750 nlg).
Our painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Marianne Berardi. A certificate will be provided
to the buyer.
