Description
Pair of silver torches from the L. XV period. On a base with filleted contours and clasps, the square-section knot rests on an umbilicus with large twisted flutes. It supports a tapering shaft decorated with fleurs-de-lis. Shells on the shoulder and repetition of the fluting on the vase.
Marks: Maison commune H couronné Paris 1748, Charge Paris 1744-1750, Décharge gros ouvrage Paris 1744-1750, M.O. Alexis LOIR (III), received Master in 1733. Small usual shock on the foot.
Coat of arms with county crown at the base of the shaft and on the wick.
