Jean Baptiste NINI (1717–1786) or an imitator Terracotta medallion depicting a profile of Benjamin Franklin. A rare example of Franklin with long hair (without the fur cap), one of only seven versions. Latin inscription around the rim: “Eripuit coelo fulmen, sceptrumque tyrannis”. Signed twice, dated 1779 and bearing the coat of arms beneath the shoulder. Small chips and losses. Diameter 13 cm
