925° vermeil chalice /°° with a moulded decoration featuring a frieze of wheat and grapes rising against a lightly hammered background; the stem bears the crown of thorns against an amati background, and the bowl bears a motto with the Christogram: ‘HIC EST ENIM CALIX SANGUINIS MEI’. Engraved ‘Fra Donnat’ on the rim of the foot and ‘RENÉ TASTET 29 June – 4 July 1939’ beneath the base. Goldsmith’s mark: D (heraldic eagle) T. Minerva mark: 1st standard. Weight: 644.2g.
