CHRISTOFLE A silver-plated bronze tripod table centrepiece decorated with two children standing back-to-back, leaning against a tree trunk surmounted by a bowl adorned with foliage and flowers; one holding a bird in his right hand and the other observing a nest of chicks in his left hand. The round base is decorated with three lion’s heads linked by an openwork vine motif, with a split-hoof-shaped foot. Hallmarked ‘CHRISTOFLE’ in relief. Master Goldsmith’s mark: scales with a bee between the pans, surmounted by four stars, two sprigs below and the letters CC, all within an oval inside a rectangle; mark used between 1844 and 1935. Numbered 1209860. H. 21.5 cm Minor wear and knocks.
