Description
After Horace Vernet (1789–1863), ‘Interior of a Studio’, 1824. A rare black-and-white engraving by Pierre-Marie Jazet (1788–1871) based on Vernet’s painting depicting his studio. 58 x 79 cm. The painting on which this engraving is based was exhibited at the Horace Vernet exhibition held at the Palace of Versailles in 2023–2024. Jazet was one of Vernet’s favourite engravers. A copy of this engraving is held at the Met in New York.
