Italian School, first half of the 19th century. Bust portrait of a man wearing the Grand Collar of the Order of St Michael with its pendant, over a red coat with a fur collar. Oil on canvas mounted on a softwood panel. H. 34.5 cm – W. 26 cm Recent cleaning has revealed an inscription in German on the reverse, bearing the name Zuccani (or ri) and the date 1843. Wooden frame with gilded stucco decoration featuring foliage motifs in the corners and scrollwork.
